A Mustard Seed

How can the smallest little seed, produce big things? It’s called faith, faith is defined as trust in something. For Christians that would be Jesus, for others that would mean something bigger than yourself. But how can this little thing bring grand rewards? Hebrews 11:1 states that “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” The book of Hebrews, chapter 11 could really be this entire blog post, and I wouldn’t need to write anything. But, that would be cheating lol. No seriously, faith is a word that most of us struggle to add to our vocabulary of words because it requires us to put ALL our hope and trust into something or someone higher than ourselves. The problem with mankind that causes us to have such a hard time in life, is the fact that we place faith in ourselves and we’re just mere mortals. We could never achieve majority of the things in our life without God, we don’t have the power or ability. In order to do anything all God requires is for us to use the measure of faith he dealt to us. Luke 17:6 says “if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, the Lord said, you can tell this mulberry tree, Be uprooted and planted in the sea; and it will obey you.” Okay, so now you mean to tell me I don’t have to see my reward in order to believe and have faith that it’s already mine? Yes this is true, sorry to burst your bubble but seeing is NOT believing. Not seeing is believing, because you’ve placed your trust in God to carry out the very thing He promised you. All it requires is a mustard seed of faith. If you’re like me and you’re looking at these pictures that’s not a lot of faith 👀..myyyyyyy God

I’m sure by now you’re probably thinking like where is your example of people using their faith. Well there’s a whole chapter in Hebrews that will give you more than you asked. And I’m sure you can find someone’s story relatable from Abraham, Sarah, Moses, David, Joseph, Joshua, Issac, Jacob, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Samuel, Abel, Enoch, Noah, etc. Don’t think that you are the only one walking this faith walk alone. If you can’t relate to the people I just mentioned find someone who has been through the journey and learn from them how to plant your mustard seed. I Did!!
