“That the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. ~Philemon 1:6, NKJV
The most incredible thing happened to me today on my way home from work, I was thinking about people I could call to share and invite out. However in the midst of me thinking about all these different people, God spoke to me and convicted me “All these people that you’re thinking about have you once asked them about coming to church with you or even invited them to have a personal relationship with me.” For the sake of this blog i’ll use something that seems to be most popular today and that’s using social media to share pics, videos, and then inviting people to like, subscribe, etc to your “whatever.”
I think you get my point but i’m going to take it a step further, we go around and share stories, share our favorite restaurants, share our food and on the flip side we invite people out for parties, lunch, vacations, etc but what about sharing the love of God with people, sharing the word (message) you just received from Sunday service, sharing how God has turned your life completely around. What about inviting people to your church, inviting them to hang out with you so that they are not being influenced by the wrong crowd? A lot of times we go days, weeks, months and even years without sharing or inviting people to experience the love, grace and mercy that God shows us daily; we assume that people will come to us when they need or want change, how about we go out and ask, share and invite.
This hit me like a ton of bricks, for real it slapped me in the face and made me think. We are bold enough to ask someone to go into business with us, yet we can’t even share or invite them to live a lifestyle that can truly change their lives from the inside out. Think about it, we were once on the other side of things where people shared or invited us to have an encounter with God like never before. Let’s be diligent, passionate and consistent enough to go out and share the gospel with people, inviting them to a church service to hear a good word. “Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.”~Galatians 6:6, NKJV
One last thing, In order for us to go out and share or invite we must be passionate, bold and consistent.!
