A Mother’s Love

Proverbs 1:8 (b) Don’t neglect your mother’s instruction.

How many of us think to ourselves, “Man if I would have just listened to my mom when she said….” Yea I’ve been there too, but thank God that He forgave us for the disobedience and gave us another chance thru His Son Jesus.

That’s the same way a mother’s love works, no matter how many times she has to tell you to do or not to do something when it is all said and done her love never ends. That is an awesome feeling to have when you know that you did something to disappoint your mom but she still hugs and kiss you and says, “I Love you no matter what, but I will correct you and help you through it and/or make it better.” I can’t speak for anyone else  when I say this, but I am truly grateful for the mom that God has blessed me with, she is all these things and more [mother; housekeeper; chef; teacher; nurse; coach; chauffeur; story teller; monster killer; planner; organizer; decorator; crafter; best friend; multitasking queen; wonder woman]

When I think about a mother’s love, I think about how much they sacrifice to give and make sure that their child(ren) have the best. Your mother may not be perfect, but she is the perfect mother for you, I used to think to myself I wonder what kind of life I would have had, if I didn’t have the mother I have today. But then I was reminded that God knew me before I was even formed in my mother’s womb, so He already knew that the mother who birthed me was the perfect one for me.

Today is Mother’s Day and as we celebrate our moms today, let’s not forget how grateful we are that they are still here with us. For the one’s who may have lost their mom, don’t think about today and become sad because your mother is not here with you physically; still celebrate her and remember all the memories she left you with. Make it a day of celebrating her life, the impact she has made and the impression that she left on not only you but the people she encountered.

To the one’s who have their mom here with them physically, don’t take the days you have with her for granted. Yes one day she will be gone, but don’t wait until she is gone to celebrate her; laugh with her now, cry with her now (happy tears), tell her you love and appreciate all that she has done for you. I’ve seen and heard too many people say “man if I could just have one more day with her.”

If you are not speaking to your mom, Stop it be the bigger person and make amends. Psalms 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!
